2006 PARADE OF PLAYHOUSES RAISES MORE THAN $18K FOR
THE
HOME BUILDERS FOUNDATION OF METRO DENVER
September 18, 2006 – Denver, CO – The Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver (HBF) announced this year’s Parade of Playhouses raised more than $18,000 for the Foundation. The five local builders who donated their time and materials to build the luxury playhouse for this year’s event were Montgomery Homes, David Weekley Homes, Shea Homes, Chartered Homes and John Laing Homes.
“Each of the builders spent numerous hours planning and building some of the most creative and beautiful playhouses I’ve ever seen,” comments Cindy Hoover, executive director of the HBF. “We greatly appreciate the thought and time each builder put into their house, inspiring the imagination of children and parents alike.”
The whimsical castle, shore house, English cottage, “treeless” tree house and miniature replica of a contemporary home will be delivered later this week to five Denver Metro area families. The Foundation will announce the “People’s Choice” award at its annual membership luncheon on October 12, 2006.
The HBF provides housing accessibility and education to help those in need. Using resources from within the Denver-area building community, the HBF renovates homes of handicapped persons with ramps and disability-friendly kitchens and bathrooms, donates money toward accident victims’ rehabilitation costs, assists low-income, special-needs families with housing needs and supports other local and national charitable organizations. So far this year, the Foundation has completed over 40 projects valued at more than $600,000. For more information, visit www.hbfdenver.org.
