Jobsite Safety Committee

Welcome to the Job Site Safety and HomeSafe® Colorado Information Page

What does this committee do? The HBA Job Site Safety Committee and HomeSafe® Colorado work collectively to facilitate the goal of accident- and injury-free job sites by providing education, training, safety certifications and peer support. The HomeSafe® program offers employers in the Colorado home building industry voluntary development and implementation of effective work site safety and health programs, typically resulting in measurable reductions in work related injuries, illnesses, deaths and overall business operational costs.

In January 2012, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recognized the HBA of Metro Denver as the first place winner of the SAFTEY PROGRAM OF THE YEAR for 201l. The award recognized the achievements of home builders and trade contractors who have developed and implemented high quality construction safety programs, as well as honoring other individuals and organizations who have made successful efforts to advance safety in the home building industry. Congratulations to the HBA Job Site Safety Committee!

HomeSafe® Colorado

The HomeSafe Colorado program is operated by the Job Site Safety Committee with the objectives of reducing and/or eliminating job site hazards and helping to facilitate the goal of eliminating and/or reducing occupational-related fatalities and serious injuries in the residential construction industry.  The HBA and the Job Site Safety Committee invite you to learn about the benefits of being a HomeSafe member.  Please read our Letter to Prospective HomeSafe Members further describing the program and its benefits.  The HomeSafe Self-Scoring Sheet and the HomeSafe Application will guide you through the process of becoming a HomeSafe member. HBA membership, while strongly encouraged, is not required to become a HomeSafe member.  Both builders and their trade partners are eligible for HomeSafe membership.  For more information contact Chérie Talbert, VP of Public Affairs, ctalbert@hbadenver.com.
