Membership Development and Retention Committee
The Membership Development and Retention Committee serves as the liaison to HBA members with a mission to build and sustain a community that is welcoming, diverse and inclusive. The committee works to bring new members to the association and assists in creating an open and collaborative environment that fosters membership participation.
Among the 2010 initiatives directed at fulfilling the mission of the committee is the development and delivery of high-value free programs on current issues, topics and trends; social and networking opportunities to build industry contacts; and targeted educational sessions on every topic from business management to sales and marketing.. These include Builder Eye-Opener Breakfasts, HBA After Hours networking events and a variety of short, focused seminars offered through out the year.
For 2010 the committee has established a business plan with the goal of growing new membership in the association by 24% and retaining over 95% of existing members. In addition to growing and retaining members, the committee recognizes that an actively engaged member receives more value for their membership as well as strengthens the association. To that end the committee is also focused on: increasing member participation in events, commitees and councils; enhancing the value of existing HBA programs; and creating new programs to serve the membership.
The committee welcomes involvement from the membership at large as well as from the many other committees and councils. Please contact 2010 Chair Stephanie Beninati, staff liaison Vicki Pelletier, or any one of the committee members listed below for further information, to get involved with the committee, or to offer your suggestions toward membership growth and retention. We welcome all members!

Stephanie Beninati, StrucSure Home Warranty, 2010 Chair
Stephanie Beninati has been in the Home Warranty business since 2001. She has been very active in the Real Estate Boards in several different states until 2008 when she entered the builder side of the Home Warranty business for StrucSure Home Warranty. Since then she has been very active on the state and local level of the HBA. When asked why she gives so much time to the HBA she answers, “When you spend more than a 1/3 of your day working you better enjoy what you do and surround yourself with people who will support you. That is how I feel about the HBA. It is a community; a fellowship and it not only has helped grow my business but has solidified strong relationships that I will treasure always.”
