Metro Housing Coalition

The Metro Housing Coalition (MHC) is the political committee of the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA). Led by a board of directors composed of 20 HBA builder and associate members, the MHC works to educate local and state government officials about HBA issues through the election process, individual meetings, workshops and events.

The MHC interviews and supports political candidates in the eight-county Denver metro region who will support a vibrant and affordable housing market. The MHC also participates in state and local elections related to the housing industry, including school-bond campaigns, ballot initiatives and referenda. The MHC is ably assisted in government relations, lobbying and community outreach by Skye L. Stuart, Senior Associate with David J. Cole & Associates, Inc.

The Metro Housing Coalition regularly meets with local elected officials to maintain a positive and productive relationship while providing HBA members with opportunities to stay informed about the political environment and policy items of impact to the home building industry.

The MHC is financially supported by the members of the HBA. Each renewing HBA member contributes *$50 to the MHC as a standing component of their annual HBA membership dues.

*Unless indicating otherwise that they do not wish to contribute to the political committee.
