The Faces of Competition

In an effort to begin the year strong, the first of the three part (January 5, 12, 19) Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) series began earlier this week. Twenty CSP participants from eleven different companies represent seasoned professionals and those new to the industry. These dedicated individuals came to class ready to learn and promise to become the Elite in the field!

The Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) and the Builder Realty Council sponsor the courses designed for real estate professionals who want to improve their unique skills, increase their knowledge of the home building process, and apply the strategies that sell more homes! 

The candidates are fortunate to be taught by industry leader, Bill Watson, current faculty member of the University of Housing for NAHB who carries the distinction of MIRM as well as CSP and MCSP designations.  Bill Watson started his New Home Sales career in 1984, and has never looked back. Since then he has been involved with the sale of hundreds of new homes in the Denver metro-area. Bill has been the VP of Sales and Marketing for both local and national home building companies and owned a local builder. His 2001 Parade of Homes entry was awarded the Green Home Builder of the Year Award and Best Merchandised Home over 6000 sq. ft. His list of accomplishments include:

  • Sales Manager of the Year from HBA of Metro Denver 
  • Marketing Director Award for Section 8 from the National Association of Home Builders
  • Member of the HBA of Metro Denver Board of Directors
  • Respected judge of several nationwide new home competitions

The SMC was fortunate to secure Bill Watson as the Instructor for the first educational opportunity of the year.  In addition to innovative educational programs, the SMC strives to connect members and provides a forum to exchange ideas, develop professional skills, give recognition and celebrate successes within the industry. The CSP course provides a valuable tool for sales and marketing professionals resulting in a smarter, stronger homebuilding industry.  

This semester's CSP candidates will leave the classroom energized and inspired, be ready industry, the educated competition is here and ready to secure their place in the market.
