Special Councils
The HBA offers members access to several special interest councils that target specific industry sectors and interests. Membership and participation guidelines vary. For more information about council membership, please contact the appropriate staff liaison.
Associate Member Council (AMC): Over 60% of the HBA’s members are associate members, including sub-contractors, building material suppliers, lenders, architects and other industry-related trade partners. The AMC board of directors is comprised of 20 HBA associate members who promote networking and successful business relationships between builders and associate members. Metro Housing Coalition (MHC): The Metro Housing Coalition is the political committee of the HBA). Led by a board of directors composed of 20 HBA builder and associate members, the MHC works to educate local and state government officials about HBA issues through the election process, individual meetings, workshops and events. Remodelers/50+ Council: This council is organized for the purpose of providing professional, quality information and education related to remodeling, reconstructing, new build, or in designing and providing housing or services to the 50+ housing market. Sales and Marketing Council (SMC): Whether you’re interested in sales and marketing, or general business and management principles, the SMC offers professional designation programs to help distinguish you from your competitors. Home Builders Foundation (HBF): The HBF is the philanthropic arm of the HBA. The mission of the Foundation is to provide accessibility solutions and home modifications for individuals with disabilities and financial need through the collaborated efforts of the building industry.
