HomeSafe® Colorado

About the HomeSafe® Colorado Program

The HomeSafe Colorado Partnership Agreement between the Denver and Englewood Offices of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA) was created to encourage employers in the residential homebuilding industry to strive for accident free jobsites through effective safety and health training, job site risk assessments, and enforcement.

On April 6th, 2019, representatives from OSHA and the HBA of Metro Denver came together to execute the new HomeSafe Partnership Agreement, extending the partnership through August 2024.

HomeSafe® Colorado, was a first-of-its-kind program that began as a partnership between the HBA and OSHA. HomeSafe® Colorado was born to level the playing field among home builders in Colorado. The program has won numerous awards since its inception.

The HomeSafe® Colorado program is now operated by the JobSite Safety Committee with the objectives of reducing and/or eliminating job site hazards and helping to facilitate the goal of eliminating and/or reducing occupational-related fatalities and serious injuries in the residential construction industry.
HBA membership, while strongly encouraged, is not required to become a HomeSafe® Colorado member. Both builders and their trade partners are eligible for HomeSafe® Colorado membership.

The program has been designed to strengthen a company’s aptitude in the safety sector. The program offers assistance based on OSHA compliance training and graduates to the development of a complete safety program tailored to a company’s specific needs.  The value of the Home Safe Colorado program will promote benefits that will hopefully minimize the risk of injury to our Colorado workforce and create a “Nobody Gets Hurt Today” mindset."
