Dear Builders and Associates,
September 30th was Chérie Talbert’s last day as CEO of the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA). Chérie will continue to be involved through the Metro Housing Coalition, but otherwise will cease day to day activities for the Association. Chérie has done many great things for our industry and our Association over the past 12 years and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Rich Staky will be taking over as our interim CEO until a full time replacement is named. For those of you not familiar with Rich, he has 27 years of experience building in Colorado and with our HBA. Most recently, Rich has been a financial consultant for the Association performing the role of CFO for over 5 years. Prior to joining the HBA Rich was Division President of Pulte Homes from 1994-1998 and Regional and Division President of John Laing Homes from 1998 to 2009. With Rich as interim CEO, you can be confident that the important work of the HBA will continue during this time. He can be contacted at 303-522-8628 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The search for a permanent CEO continues. We have interviewed many local candidates and have recently expanded our search nationally. While we hope to have a replacement soon, this is a critical position for our Association, and we want to make sure we get the right person to represent and lead our Association going forward. Pursuant to the Bylaws, the Compensation Committee made up of Executive Board Members Angela Harris, Jeff McGovern, Randel Carpenter and I, are charged with hiring the new CEO. However, we will be reaching out to additional members for their input. Thanks to all that have offered to help with the interviewing thus far and if anyone knows of a good candidate please refer them to Philip Eidenschink at 720-318-3997 or email@example.com.
