This Week (April 17-21) is NIOSH / NORA Construction Sector Council’s 4th annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents, in conjunction with National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) |
|
|
Struck-by incidents are the second leading cause of death among construction workers and the leading cause of nonfatal injuries in the construction industry. For 2023, the Stand-down focus is on highway work zones, vehicular and heavy equipment hazards, dropped objects, dump trucks, and vehicle recovery. The National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents is a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. Any workplace can hold a stand-down by taking a break to focus on “Struck-by Hazards” and reinforcing the importance of training and prevention. For more information, please visit:

The HBA’s Newest Committee Held its FIRST Event on March 29! |

The PASS (Purchasing Agents, Subcontractors, and Suppliers) Committee held its first dinner event on Wednesday, March 29. HBA members listened to three member presentations focusing on GREEN BUILDING. Sunnova, ARXCIS, and Carrier West all shared informative updates on what they are doing to promote green initiatives in the building industry.
