In addition, two-thirds of respondents felt that the HBA’s political influence helped them gain access to local and state elected officials.

On issues most important to our members, respondents ranked Labor (Workforce availability and cost), Cost and availability of building materials, Local government processes, and Updates to building codes as the Top 4 issues affecting their businesses right now.

When it came to services provided by the HBA to its members, respondents noted:

  • Just under 50 percent of respondents attended 1 to 4 HBA events in the past two years, with another 35 percent attending 5 or more events.
  • Two-thirds of respondents noted that they participate in at least one of the HBA’s Councils or committees.
  • Nearly 94 percent of respondents said they regularly read the HBA Events and More newsletter, with more than 40 percent of respondents reading The Advocate (Government Affairs newsletter).

A full analysis of the survey results is currently being compiled for HBA staff to review and reflect on how we can better support our membership.
