Building More Than Homes: SMC Creates a Welcoming Mothers’ Room at Samaritan House

Sales & Marketing Council board members and volunteers recently completed the transformation of the Mothers’ Room at Samaritan House, a program of Catholic Charities.

Samaritan House in downtown Denver currently provides housing for 18 single mothers with young children, as well as expectant mothers. Recognizing the importance of creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for these families, the Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) Board of Directors adopted a community outreach project to refresh and furnish a dedicated space where mothers can feed, change, rock, and play with their babies.

Over the past several months, with significant coordination from Macy O’Rourke and the generous contributions of time, talent, and resources from the Kimberly Timmons Interiors team, Koelbel & Company, Phoenix Drywall, Sherwin-Williams, fellow SMC board members, and numerous other volunteers, the room underwent a complete transformation. Volunteers sourced donations, painted, installed improvements, and furnished and stocked the space with essential items for both mothers and their little ones. To add a special personal touch, Macy hand-painted a beautiful mural that serves as the room’s centerpiece.

The project culminated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 28, attended by representatives from Catholic Charities and members of the SMC volunteer team. Macy O’Rourke and Darren Walsh, CEO of Catholic Charities, had the honor of cutting the ribbon and officially dedicating the space during the ceremony.

The Home Builders Association of Metro Denver proudly supports the Sales & Marketing Council and its ongoing commitment to community outreach and service. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and resources to make a meaningful difference in the lives of mothers and children in our community.
