The Metro Housing Coalition has completed its 2026 fall election endorsement process, supporting 11 candidates who share our commitment to expanding housing opportunities across metro Denver. This November’s county and municipal elections will significantly shape housing and residential development throughout the region. Local elected officials decide on issues ranging from impact fees and inclusionary zoning to energy codes, fire sprinkler requirements, permitting, infrastructure, and construction defects - all of which can affect housing costs and availability. With housing affordability consistently ranking among metro Denver’s most pressing issues, the MHC Board made it a priority this election cycle to identify and support candidates who understand the challenges facing housing providers and are committed to policies that allow communities to grow and provide more attainable housing opportunities. For the 2026 fall election, the MHC sent questionnaires to 35 candidates across five counties and four municipalities. Board members subsequently conducted 16 follow-up candidate interviews, resulting in 11 endorsements. The process is an important part of the HBA and MHC’s ongoing efforts to build relationships with both new and returning elected officials. These relationships allow us to better advocate for policies that support housing production and help ensure the residential construction industry's perspectives are represented in local decision-making. We encourage HBA members to learn more about the candidates endorsed by the Metro Housing Coalition and consider supporting them in November. The MHC Board appreciates all of the candidates who took the time to participate in this year’s endorsement process and looks forward to working with elected officials across the region to advance policies that expand housing opportunities and support responsible growth. MHC Housing Coalition Hosts 2026 Annual Political Forum |
On September 24, the Metro Housing Coalition hosted another successful Political Forum at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. The annual event allows the MHC to raise valuable resources to support pro-business and pro-housing candidates throughout the Denver Metro Area. It also lets the HBA highlight critical policy issues affecting the residential construction industry across our jurisdiction. This year, the forum highlighted the need for Starter Homes to fill the growing need for increased affordability in the housing market. The MHC would like to thank moderator Scott Dergance, KGA Architects and esteemed panelists Heidi Williams, Metro Mayors Caucus; DJ Summers, Common Sense Institute; and Ryan Delp, Oakwood Homes, for participating in this year’s discussion. We also thank all of this year’s volunteers and event sponsors for your generous support. It couldn’t have happened without your leadership and dedication. |

Last week, HBA members, colleagues, clients and friends gathered for a fun day of shooting and fundraising for a worthy cause. Nearly 100 participants registered for the event, directly benefiting the Metro Denver HBA’s Strategic Issues Fund to advocate on policy issues critical to our industry across the metro area. This tournament featured a 100-target clay shoot with 15 fully automated stations along a cottonwood creek bottom and included breakfast, lunch, an awards ceremony and a prize giveaway. The HBA greatly appreciates our membership's participation and support for this important event and can’t wait to host it again next year! |
HBA of Metro Denver Hosts 2026 Job Site Safety Fair |
On September 17th, the HBA’s Job Site Safety Committee hosted its eighth annual Job Site Safety Fair at the RidgeGate development in Lone Tree. The event brought together builders, tradespeople, and others across the homebuilding industry to highlight best practices and the latest job site safety technology. Attendees gathered and enjoyed burgers and brats grilled by Builders FirstSource, while fair vendors including SFI Compliance, Zedcor Security, DeWalt, and OSHA set up booths and engaged with participants throughout the event. Later, two vendors provided job site safety presentations. SFI Compliance conducted a fall-protection demonstration that highlighted the importance of proper harness use. At the same time, Zedcor showcased its innovative job site security camera systems and the many benefits this technology provides.
