Meet Holly MacGregor | AMC Member

How did you get started in your career?

Before joining BKC almost 11 years ago, I held various administrative and customer service jobs in both retail and the hospitality industry, which provided me great foundations for my current career path. I have always enjoyed art and design as well as interacting with people, and so beginning my career at BKC as the front desk receptionist was the perfect segue for my later transition into marketing and business development for the kitchen and bath design company. I now have the opportunity to participate in creative projects, as well as to help grow the organization by reaching out to customers and networking directly with industry partners, which I greatly enjoy.

Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you to get where you are? And why? 

My mother has definitely been an influence on my successes in life. I have always known her to be a strong, intelligent woman who pursues whatever she sets her mind to and is successful at it. Through my formative years, she instilled a belief in me that “you can do anything you put your mind to.” This is a philosophy which has stuck with me throughout the seasons of my life.

Additionally, I’ve had the great benefit of being mentored by managers in various jobs I’ve held through the years, including my current position at BKC. The owner of BKC, Dan Wagner, has shared invaluable advice and guidance with me, helping to lead me to where I am today. I am grateful for all of the mentors I’ve met in my life who have influenced the path I’ve traveled on in such positive ways.

What do you love about the home building industry? 

Because I enjoy art, design, and helping people, I love being a part of an industry that focuses on creating homes which fulfill the dreams of the people who occupy them. The Home Building Industry offers a perfect combination of design, service, and community-building. What could be more satisfying than constructing a roof over someone’s head, providing them living space, and designing a kitchen or bath within it that perfectly matches their needs and personal style?

Tell us three things about yourself that people do not know!

1.  During my high school and college years, I lived in Hawaii.

2.) When I was 20, I backpacked through seven countries in Europe.

3.) I have an extensive vinyl record collection, plus my original Pioneer turntable to play it on!
