OSHA Enforcement Guidance on Respiratory Protection & N95 Shortage due to Coronavirus

https://www.osha.gov/memos/2020-04-03/enforcement-guidance-respiratory-protection-and-n95-shortage-due-coronavirus

Please see the above link just released by OSHA updating guidance on respirator shortage issues and enforcement discretion to permit the extended use and reuse of respirators (not just for healthcare personnel but for the protection of workers exposed to other respiratory hazards impacted by the shortages).

This will take effect immediately and remain in effect until further notice.  Please note that this is intended to be time-limited to the current public health crisis.

Please pass this along to your teams in the field and please be reminded that those working in the field are being watched not only by OSHA, but by residents so ensuring the social distancing guidelines is MANDATORY which will help keep us moving forward as an essential service.

It sounds intuitive, but please have a daily conversation with your field workers about this and to remind them that also means distancing when standing in line at a food truck and while eating.

I have also included CDPHE’s information https://www.hbadenver.com/2020/04/03/cdphe-covid-19-construction-guidance/ you can utilize in conjunction with your safety posters and discussion.  We also have a poster you can use if you need one at: https://www.hbadenver.com/2020/04/02/covid-19-jobsite-safety-poster-now-available/

I know most of you have company-wide versions, however all of this information can also be found on your HBA website at www.hbadenver.com.

Finally, know that your HBA, CAHB and others have been working daily to keep our essential services abilities a top priority at the local and state levels.

Thank you,
